Boys Intermediate Basketball
The intermediate Boys Basketball Team played very well throughout their season, showing significant improvement in working as a team, leading to their regionals tournament. The boys showed great sportsmanship and their love for the sport. The season started with a mini tournament at St. Monica’s School against Maple Grove and Forest Hill. The boys played well against both teams coming out strong against Maple Grove by just one basket. Unfortunately they ended the game short on the scoreboard to Forest Hill, but they still played well with strong SMO team spirit.
The team worked hard leading up to their zone tournament at Maple Grove where the team went head to head against Steele Street and Maple Grove. SMO played amazing winning again against Maple Grove. It was and intense game. Near the end, the boys were only leading by two baskets with 13 seconds left. Luckily, SMO managed to stop Maple Grove and taking the win, thus advancing to regionals.
At regionals, the boys demonstrated unbelievable work on offense and stellar defense. They played strongly, with hard work and determination against all 3 teams. Unfortunately the boys came up short on all three games, but gave it all their all and never gave up. Way to go Saints!
