Pancake Tuesday

Tuesday February 13th is Shrove Tuesday. In the morning, the students of St. Monica's are invited to celebrate as a community in the gym. Mrs. Rumney's class will again be hosting this event as a social justice initiative. We ask that each student bring in $2 donation for a snack of 2 pancakes and a glass of white milk. All of the proceeds from this event will go towards helping needy families in our community. This year we are again featuring the VIP room. Students who bring in cans or money will be given the opportunity to access the VIP lounge. For every can, (more expensive items are worth more tickets) or dollar above the initial $2 donation the student will be given ballots. Ballots are the equivalent of 50 cents each or 3 for a dollar. Food items will be assessed a value and given to the students in ballots. The lounge features such things as extra milk, specialty pancakes, a personal chef and a cartoon viewing area. Two students will be chosen from each classroom and will be allowed to bring a friend who has at least one ballot in the draw, from the same class, to share in the experience. Please send in money/items with your child a.s.a.p.
